In the wake of the 2024 election, a new wave of Gen Z and “outsider” candidates are rising up to challenge establishment Democrats and political dynasties. One of them is Deja Foxx — a 25-year-old activist, content creator, and former Kamala Harris campaign staffer — now launching an insurgent congressional campaign in Arizona’s 7th district. The race is a high-stakes special election triggered by the passing of longtime progressive Rep. Raúl Grijalva, and Deja is going up against his daughter – the party-backed candidate Adelita Grijalva (and others). With exclusive behind-the-scenes access, COURIER follows Deja’s grassroots campaign as she navigates ballot deadlines, big-name endorsements, and the pressure to “wait her turn.” This raw political documentary series captures the real story of what it takes to run for Congress — and take on the Democratic establishment — in 2025.
